The West Parry Sound Regional Economic Development Office represents the townships of Carling, Whitestone, McKellar, McDougall, Sequin, Archipelago, and Parry Sound. WPS EDO created their economic development strategy with the belief that appropriate economic development in any of the Municipalities is beneficial for all seven Municipalities and as such have been building their economic capacity and promoting the area as one Development Community.
Our mission is to stimulate and enhance economic growth and development through municipal and community partnerships while ensuring the protection of our natural, social and visual environment within our UNESCO Georgian Bay Biosphere designation.
Incorporating our retention and attraction strategies we have created a soft landing for industry wishing to locate in our region by creating development ready industrial parks, infrastructure accessibility information, digital search capability for available site locations, economic familiarization tour opportunities and introductions to our successful local manufacturers many of whom conduct business on a global scale.
