By-law Enforcement Services
By-laws are established to address local community issues and concerns, under the authority of various Provincial Statutes, including the Municipal Act, Building Code Act, Highway Traffic Act, Dog Owner’s Liability Act and the Provincial Offences Act. These laws aim to safeguard the environment, public health and safety, and ensure an organized and attractive appearance of the community.
A By-law Enforcement Officer's role is to educate, investigate and enforce all By-laws within the Township, such as:
- Noise complaints.
- Shoreline destruction.
- Illegal dumping of waste.
- Parking complaints.
- Animal control.
By-laws help maintain the quality of your municipality. Every resident of Seguin has a role to play in upholding these standards.
