The Township of Seguin is governed by an elected Council consisting of a Mayor and 6 Councillors currently serving a four-year term (2022 - 2026).

The Township of Seguin Council Code of Conduct was created to provide guidelines to the Head of Council and Members of Council to assist with the orderly decision making process and obligations of Council.
As of March 1, 2019, amendments to section 270 of the Municipal Act, 2001 required the Municipality to adopt and maintain a policy with respect to the relationship between Members of Council and the Officers and Staff of the Municipality. Council-Staff Relations Policy

The Municipal Conflict of Interest Act, as amended Section 5.1 states at a meeting at which a member discloses an interest under Section 5 of the Act, or as soon as possible afterwards, the member shall file a written statement of the interest and its general nature. And Section 6 (1) of the Act states every declaration of interest and the general nature thereof made under Section 5 shall be recorded in the minutes of the meeting by the Clerk. This has been and is the practice of Seguin Township Council. On March 1, 2019, the day named by proclamation of the Lieutenant Governor, the Act is amended by adding the following section: Registry Access to registry As the Act requires as of March 1, 2019 a registry to be kept and made available to the public, Seguin Township is beginning a registry as of January, 2018.

About Mayor MacDiarmidAnn was first elected as Mayor in 2014 and was acclaimed for her second term in 2018. Ann grew up cottaging in Seguin, has been a ratepayer since 1982 and built her permanent home south of Rosseau in 2014.
Continuing on with her first four years as Seguin Mayor, Ann is committed to having the West Parry Sound Aquatic and Recreation Centre become a reality, completing the Official Plan Review and updating the Seguin Strategic Plan.

Councillor Ward 2 - Mario Buszynski |
About Councillor BuszynskiMario Buszynski was first elected Councillor for Ward 2 in 2014 and then again in 2022.
Mario is an environmental and land use planner who has over 40 years of experience in both the private and public sectors. His roots go back to his grandfather, who bought property on Otter Lake in 1909.
He has been on the executive of the Otter Lake Association (30+ years), the Foley Township Planning and Development Committee (10 years), various regional economic initiatives and the Board of Belvedere Heights as a Seguin Township representative (4 years).
Mario has been involved in various environmental initiatives in the Township, including helping to create lake trout spawning beds on Otter Lake, saving control dams on Otter and Oastler Lakes, successfully defeating a regional landfill site proposed for Salmon lake and identifying issues with poorly planned development.
Mario is Seguin’s representative on the Muskoka Watershed Council and ICECAP, a program of the Georgian Bay Biosphere reserve and municipalities in West Parry Sound.

About Councillor CollinsTed Collins was elected as the Councillor of Ward 5 in Seguin Township in 2014 and re-elected in 2018 and again in 2022.
CBW co-ordinates the design, manufacturing and delivery of engineered vessels for clients such as Canadian Coast Guard, United States Coast Guard, Ministry of Natural Resources, Ministry of the Environment, Law Enforcement, Fire Rescue Services, Private Corporations and Recreational Customers throughout North America.
