Open-Air Burning in the Township of Seguin is regulated to help protect people, property, and the environment.

A valid fire permit is sometimes required for open-air burning and is dependent on the size of the fire and the time of day. Permits must be obtained in advance.

Residents and visitors are responsible for ensuring that all burning is conducted safely and in accordance with municipal by-laws. Before starting any fire, always check the current fire hazard rating and regulations to ensure burning is permitted.

Conditions can change quickly during burning. Fires must be attended at all times and fully extinguished before leaving the area.
