Yesterday, the Ontario government announced that on Wednesday January 5, 2022 the province will return to a modified step two of the Roadmap to Reopen plan to slow the spread of Omicron.
As a result, Seguin Township programs and services will be modified until further notice. All essential services including road maintenance, fire and emergency services will continue to operate. Seguin Township municipal offices remain closed to the public. Residents are encouraged to use our online services, email and phone to connect with staff.

As of Wednesday January 5, 2022, at 12:01am Humphrey Arena and all Seguin community centres will close. Drop-in programs and rentals are cancelled until further notice. Seguin trails will remain open. Residents are asked to follow provincial regulations, including physical distancing while using these spaces.
Other key changes that go into place as of Wednesday January 5, 2022, at 12:01am include:
- If there is room for people to stay at least two metres apart, up to 10 people can gather outdoors, and up to five people can gather indoors. This includes organized public events.
- Indoor religious services, rites and ceremonies including weddings and funerals are permitted at 50 per cent capacity of the room. Outdoor religious services, rites and ceremonies including weddings and funerals are permitted with capacity limited to permit physical distancing of two metres.
- Indoor dining will close; however, outdoor dining with restrictions, takeout, drive through and delivery are permitted.
- Seguin Township encourages everyone to shop as locally as possible; order online, use curbside pickup or delivery services. In-store shopping is limited to 50 per cent capacity.
- Personal services may remain open at 50 per cent capacity and must adhere to other restrictions.
