Seguin Township Council adopted the Waste Management Strategy as presented by Dillon Consulting at the November 20 Meeting of Council.
The strategy provides recommendations to guide the future of waste management in the Township over the next 20 years and was developed in three phases that focused on three primary questions: Where are we now? Where do we want to go? And how do we get there?
The strategy provides 12 options to improve the Township’s programs, policies, infrastructure, and maintenance levels. The recommendations were made following research, including internal and public consultation, on the current waste management system, the Township’s future goals and a cost-benefit evaluation of options for “how to get there.” Supporting documentation, including the sustainable funding model, will be a living document that Township staff may revise over time as decisions are made.
