The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry – Parry Sound District is advising area residents that a Watershed Conditions Statement - Water Safety Bulletin is in effect in the District until Tuesday, June 21, 2022.

PARRY SOUND, ON – Walk-ins aged five and older are welcome at the COVID-19 vaccine clinic taking place Tuesday, June 14 at the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (70 Joseph St., Parry Sound) from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. First, second, third and fourth doses will be offered to eligible individuals. Face coverings are required and will be available upon entry. Individuals should bring a health card or another form of identification, if possible.

Seguin Township to lower flags in honour of Joseph P Bissonette

Flags at Seguin Township facilities will be lowered on Saturday, June 11 in honour of Joseph Prosper Bissonette.

Bissonette died on May 23, 2022 at the age of 93. The lifelong Seguin area resident gave decades of his life to public service, sitting on local municipal councils and committees for more than 50 years.  Bissonette was a founding member of Seguin Township when it amalgamated in 1998.

Two cottages on Knowles Crescent, along the Shadow River, in Rosseau caught fire on the evening of Friday, May 20. While the buildings were destroyed, there were no reported injuries and the flames were extinguished approximately four hours after crews arrived.
