NIPISSING & PARRY SOUND, ON – The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) has declared a local whooping cough (pertussis) outbreak affecting residents across the Health Unit region. Since January 2024, 16 confirmed cases of pertussis have been reported to the Health Unit. This is an increase from the previous five years, where we had an average of only 3.8 cases per year.

NORTH BAY, ON – As smoke from forest fires in Quebec and Ontario continue to affect the air quality across the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) region, the Health Unit is reminding people to take precautions. NIPISSING & PARRY SOUND, ON – COVID-19 vaccine clinics are returning to the Nipissing and Parry Sound districts as early as this week, allowing individuals to stay up-to-date on their booster doses.

NOTICE OF ROAD CLOSURE: James Bay Junction Road at the CN crossing west of Blue Lake Road will be closed (open only to local traffic) Friday July 30, 2021 from 7:00am to 5:00pm.
This closure is for CN train track upgrades.
Local traffic includes the following addresses: #3 to #163 Junction Bay Road: access via north entrance #172 - #269 James Bay Junction Road, Blue Lake Road and Otter Lake Road: access via south entrance
