Updated Shoreline Alteration By-laws

Seguin Township has updated its site alteration by-law and tree conservation by-law to better protect Seguin’s lakes and ecosystems.  These by-laws were approved by Council at the March 4, 2024 meeting. The site alteration by-law now applies to all lands within 60 metres of a shoreline and all lands zoned Environmental Protection (EP and EP1). The Honourable Steve Clark, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, approved Seguin Township’s request for a Minister’s Zoning Order (MZO) on March 17, allowing for future residential development on 743 acres of Seguin Township land.

Seguin Township is drafting an application to submit to the Province of Ontario which, if approved, would expedite the process of developing more attainable housing solutions in the West Parry Sound Area.
