Pandemic Response
How we, as individuals and as a community, respond to a pandemic situation or to other emergencies will ultimately speak to our survival.
In November 2005, a group of people came together to discuss the possibility of a pandemic and how we might help the community respond to and assist in preparing for such a possibility.
Team leaders and members of the community have worked throughout the winter to prepare this material and to organize a series of workshops. In no way is this a definitive document on planning for the pandemic or other emergencies. Our hope is that it will help you to begin thinking about and organizing what you and your family might need in order to respond to such an emergency. Most of the teams have provided sources where additional materials may be obtained. My hope is that you will avail yourself of the opportunity to further prepare. I want to thank Donna Kearney, our Nurse Practitioner, the team leaders, workshop leaders and committee members for their work in preparing this material. I sincerely hope that it will be of benefit to the community.
